Spicy Food to Lose Weight?

Spices like cinnamon, paprika, turmeric, oregano, rosemary and garlic are often touted to help in the loss of weight. Studies show that amongst men subjects who were over-weight and suffering from obesity, when introduced to spicy meals to replace their usual meals- men’s insulin levels decreased by around 20 to 25 percent and triglyceride levels decreased by 30 to 35 percent. What that means in effect is just this, that the body can burn up to 20-30 additional calories own its own after the consumption of spicy food. In fact, red hot peppers have long been tried on to suppress hunger urges. The effect of spicy food will obviously be more on people who don’t always have them than the one’s who do. Also, it is important to remember that this does not mean you have to have so many chillies, so as to burn your throat and intestines as you swallow; in fact that can have a detrimental effect on your body including causing ulcer. But, if you are sensible you may revert to a spice filled diet for a rapid weight loss.
